FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
BKY Notary Services is exclusively a mobile service. This means you are met at a location most convenient for you - whether that's at a park, home, office, or coffee shop. The cost to notarize your document will include two separate fees - the notary fee and a travel fee. The notary fee varies based on the number of signers who will have their signature notarized and the number of times the notary seal is used. The travel fee varies based on distance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During confirmation of your notary appointment, we will review the following: 1) Type of document to notarize and the number of people who need to have their signature notarized. 2) Time and location (and any special instructions such as parking or gated community processes). 3) The total cost to have your document notarized. See "What should the customer know about your pricing?" 4) Proof of identity (please have an unexpired identification (i.e. Driver License, State ID, Passport) ready to show for verification of identity. 5) Vehicle type (the make and model of vehicle will be provided so that you feel more comfortable and know exactly the car in which I will arrive). 6) Covid 19 protocols (to help reduce the spread of Covid 19, I will wear a mask that fits securely over the nose and mouth AND wear a NEW pair of latex gloves).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Education is very important to ensure the laws are executed faithfully and documents are notarized accurately. A complete list of training includes Notary Essentials, NSA Continuing Education, and National Notary Association (NNA) Success Summit. Additionally, I hold a certification from the Loan Signing System (for facilitating real estate and loan signing transactions) and have passed the NNA Signing Agent Exam. As a member of the National Notary Association, a wealth of resources to maintain and strengthen skillset is at my fingertips. At least ten hours each month is spent on continuous education to remain current with changing laws and regulations.
