LIFE COACHING $150/session Life is a continuing journey of joys, challenges, pain, and achievements, sometimes interrupted by events or personal difficulties that slow us down or even prevent us from living the kind of life we desire. Some of the work I do is derived from Albert Ellis's Rational-Emotive-Behavioral approach, (I am not a licensed therapist and do not conduct therapy) along with an understanding of both the Western Humanistic Psychology movement and Eastern philosophies. Basically, we try to answer the question, "what is the path to making us the best person for the job, and how do I communicate this effectively?" Regardless of what area of life is our focus -jobs, relationships, challenges-learning more about yourself, and to be kinder and more accepting of yourself permits mindfulness, and being more presence and self-awareness can bring enormous benefits.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We typically start out with a brief, free phone conversation and soon set an appointment to meet in person or by phone. I coach most of my clients remotely by phone, internet and sometimes video chat throughout the US and overseas.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree in Economics, and an M.A. from Washington University in Industrial/Organizational Behavior. I completed many doctoral courses in graduate education, particularly learning and motivation theory, career dynamics, management and leadership theory and systems, personality and social psychology, along with Organizational Development methods. I was awarded Coaching Certification from the Institute of Career Certification International--the only non-profit international certifying agency that requires a minimum of four years of documented coaching work, a professional sponsor, and rugged qualifying panel interviews. I also founded a healthcare company and ran it for 10 years, have been President of three companies I didn't own, and held titles of Executive Director, Regional Marketing Director and Business Development Director of others.
