This is the second time that we have hired Youtopia Designs to remodel our home. The first time we hired Youtopia Designs was a few years ago and it was a complete remodel on the first floor along with a design for the master bedroom & bathroom. We were thrilled with the way Youtopia Designs handled the project from the first meeting all the way through implementing the project to completion. The end results looked identical to the 3D drawings she created for us. Long story short, we sold that home and moved out of state. A few years later, we were back in the St. Louis Metro area and purchased a home that had a lot of potential but also needed a professionals eye to unveil the hidden beauty this home had. We called Youtopia Designs right away to get them started on this full home remodel. Youtopia Designs reworked the foyer that had a lot of nooks a cranny's and took something that we didn't think was possible to update and made it beautiful. In our great room, there was a tiny fireplace that looked so out of place and they came up with the most exquisite design that actually fits the scale of the room and adds storage. Another area that we absolutely love is the laundry room, they took a room that I would consider builder grade with no bells or whistles and made it extremely functional. We now have built in lockers which allow us storage for shoes, purses, coats, you name it, room for the washer & dryer, an additional cabinet for storage with counter space and our favorite part is the dog shower! The dog shower they designed is positively amazing in terms of the design and aesthetic. Our dog is big so its not the easiest to pick him up to put in the shower so Youtopia Designs created retractable stairs under the shower, this makes it so easy when bathing out dog because the stairs are out of the way and when the shower is over our dog can go down the stars himself! This is just a small part of the remodel they helped us with, they also designed the dining room, study, powder room, great room, master bedroom, master bathroom, kitchen, butlers pantry, hearth room and more! We cant thank Youtopia Designs enough and without a doubt would recommend them to anyone looking for an interior designer.

I recently purchased a condo in Central West End and was in need of advice on design. A friend in the building had used Youtopia Designs in the past for their condo and passed along their information to me. I called Candice Wideman of Youtopia Designs and discussed my project over the phone with her and then set up an in person meeting to discuss what I wanted to have done in my home. She was very thorough throughout the initial meeting asking a lot of questions about things I never would have thought of. I knew right then and there that this was the right interior design company for me! I hired Youtopia Designs to help me with the overall design of my foyer, office, living room, dining room & master bedroom. The ideas that Candice presented to me at our presentation meeting were fascinating! I don't know how she was able to dream up these ideas based on our meetings but she did it and I absolutely loved all of them! She was able to utilize the majority of my current furniture that I wanted to keep and selected new fabrics to reupholster these pieces, she came up with such an unique idea in my foyer which incorporated utilizing a tile accent with a beautiful paint on the wall that ran down to the floor and into the office... What an amazing way to draw one’s attention into the room! She used this same concept as well in the office area that led into the dining room which was a stunning way to tie these two rooms together while still keeping them separate. In my dining room, she came up with an idea for my wall that incorporated a beautiful off centered tile mural along with a large multi piece mural centered on the back wall behind my dining table that incorporated multiple intricate pieces with the main part of the mural consisting of a photo of a Buffalo which I fell in love with since I am from Wyoming and love that she implemented part of my past into my present. In my master bedroom, I disliked waking up every morning to sitting up and seeing myself in the multiple mirrors on the wall across from my bed that hid the closet but had no clue what we could do to update this other than replacing the mirror doors with new solid wood doors. This is where Candice came up with one of the most unique and surprising designs that literally astonished me. She kept the mirrors and had a custom muralist come and paint a mural directly on the mirrors that looked as though I was in the middle of a national park with a pond and trees all around. There were bits and pieces of the mirror that weren’t painted and parts that were, it really made the design on the mural feel realistic, like the water was reflecting my room! I highly recommend Youtopia Designs if you are looking for an interior design company who thinks outside of the box to create a truly one of a kind masterpiece in your home.

I hired Youtopia Designs to remodel my kitchen. Candice and her team took my 90's kitchen and created a current but timeless room that my family and I will enjoy for years. This company listened to the wants and needs I requested and fused my ideas with theirs creating an amazing room that surpassed my expectations. The designers were able to maximize the appearance and functionality of my kitchen by eliminating a single flush mount light and created layers of lighting in this room. Multiple CAN lights were added to the ceiling along with beautiful pendant lights that hang over the peninsula. They also created a beautiful focal wall with 3 wall sconces that serve as artwork and also accent lighting. Lighting was important but not the only thing that needed to be addressed; Youtopia Designs selected new flooring to compliment my existing wood floors, they selected a cabinet paint color for the existing cabinets and moved some cabinets around to create a better flow in the room. New tile backsplash was selected and they coordinated it with the focal wall with the 3 sconces. Everything turned out perfect, I cant wait to work with Youtopia Designs again on my upcoming projects. I would highly recommend Youtopia Designs to anyone looking for an interior designer.

We make things simple, and I think that's why so many homeowners on Thumbtack hire us. Your first hour is free, and then we bid the project. You know upfront how much you will pay, even if it takes us 3x as many hours to complete. We bill half upfront, half on completion on most projects.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always wanted to be a designer. I was re-arranging my room when I was a kid, and I've always been creative. It's just what I knew I would do for as long as I can remember!
