FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a 1-hour minimum of $75.00 and then $37.50 per 30 minutes. For larger projects that are more complicated, I will provide a quote after I've determined the scope of the work. Clients will receive a quote for their project before any work begins. If additional time is needed to complete a task or additional services are requested, we will discuss the additional services and the $37.50 per 30 minutes rate will apply. We offer a 10% discount for seniors, active-duty military, and veterans.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with a new client starts with an initial phone call or text to understand the scope of the project. I try to collect all relevant information to insure that the project runs smoothly. This information may include model numbers, example photos of the piece itself or where the piece is to be assembled in the residence, etc. I would then estimate the time it will take to complete the project and provide a quote before starting the project. After the project is complete, I will provide an invoice and accept payment.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My grandfather was a tradesman and naturally, I was his make-shift apprentice from the age of 9 years old; this included grabbing tools for him, learning how to do many things, and somehow always managing to hold the flashlight in the wrong place. I continued to take on projects and I began routinely getting calls from family and friends when they need assistance as word travels fast.
