I train students from ages Kindergarten through High school. I use piano repertoire that fits each individual perfectly. The younger student may use a cd to accompany their piano time. While the older student will study theory in depth, with their regular lesson. I hold recitals twice a year. Once at Christmas and once at the end of the school year. Rewards are handed out at this time. I also reward students as they progress in their lessons, with stickers, candy, and sometimes gift cards. I make learning piano enjoyable! If it's just another thing to learn, students will not want to continue. I complement my students' lessons with musical theory on the computer. My students love this, and learn quicker than they would without the extra theory practice. I work with homeschool students as well as with "traditional" students. I have availability during the day and evening. I live in Lee's Summit Missouri, and teach from my home, there. When I see my pianists light up with enthusiasm, because they mastered their piece or a new concept, I am filled with joy! That is what makes my job worth it...spreading the love of music to others!
