On top of my career as an active musician, I have 30+ years of professional teaching experience. I’ve taught hundreds of students from ages 5 to 85 in all different styles of music and at all skill levels, including students with varying physical and learning challenges. About half of my students are complete beginners. I specialize in tailoring the lessons to your goals, using the music you love. It makes my day when a light bulb comes on for my student.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to begin by learning what kind of music you listen to and would like to play. You might jot down a short list of songs you'd like to learn how to play so that I can get a sense of your taste and help carve your direction. It is also useful to know your musical aspirations. Whether you want to join a band or just play for friends and family, I will work with you to help you achieve your goals through the music you love.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started playing professionally when I was 15 and continued to do so while studying music performance and education at the University of Kansas. After touring the country with my band, I got married, and started a wonderful family. Since then, I’ve been performing and recording with various bands while helping people reach their musical goals through teaching private music lessons full-time.
