I've helped countless students raise their grades in STEM courses from D's to B's or even A's by meeting once to three times a week, as well as helping students improve their ACT/SAT scores drastically to meet their goals. My students are very pleased with their results. One of my physics students went on to Brown and a statistics student to MIT. Through Thumbtack, I've tutored ACT, SAT, MCAT, AP, IB, A-levels, physics, chemistry, biology, math, programming (R/Python) at high school and collegiate level but I was also a writing tutor at Mizzou's Writing Center and volunteer tutor for high school students.
