Introduction

We are very knowledgeable and patient. Have taught all ages and bring years of teaching to each session. We enjoy,am thrilled with each bit of progress our student athlete gain. I have focused the past 15 years on developing methods to teach water safety to people on the Autism spectrum. I specialize in teaching children with disabilities having met with renown program leader’s world wide. We are looking at abilities to build skills. Most on our team have license to touch and liability insurance along with CPR training and seasonal auditing. Safety along with survival skills are practiced at each 30 minutes session displayed in a waterproof iPad on the deck with custom swimming tasks. We never allow can’t, never ask what can’t but insist on I’ll try what feels like a big ask at the moment. I love the joy the moment the body and mind line up and the hard work is paying off. I began first lesson fearful of the water because I had not been swimming for 40 years. Three days later, I was enjoying the water and swimming backstroke and freestyle. Endurance and technique need a lot of work but I have made great progress in a short time. Pro began by helping me feel comfortable in the water. I'm looking forward to becoming a confident swimmer.

My 7 yr old already knew how to float. He learned more in 10 minutes w/ Julie than a whole month at a local swim school w/ 3 other kids in his class. If you could only take 1 swim class in your life, this would be it. He enjoyed being in the water. He treaded water in the deep end and swam independently with proper form (new skills acquired). Julie continuously checked in with us during the lesson to see if our concerns were addressed and expectations met. She exceeded them and reaffirmed that we made the best decision (we even decided to skip out on his last swim class at his old school cuz we didn't want to waste our time).

Julie is very patient with my children, and they can be a handful at 4 and 6. My son has high anxiety so her patience has been very helpful trying to get him acclimated to the water.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is pretty straight forward, $75 for the goal setting half an hour meeting, After that the choice of having a monthly membership of $225. This is at a therapy salt water pool in Hudson. If I need to travel to your pool my price increases to cover the travel according to the distance and cost to use the pool I am visiting. This price point gets you in the hands of my training working with people in the Spectrum and adults. I constantly and studying and attending training's to tap into teaching so even the most challenged may learn.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We set up a time to meet, go over where the customer is at and what goals we are looking to reach. I then plan out custom lesson plans that will most effectively help this individual. I look at their learning styles, challenges that will need to be addressed and what tools in my back ground will best aid in going for the goal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Have 30 years of working in programs with the Red Cross, YMCA and YWCA along with a Bachelors Degree in Holistic Aquatic Therapies and Principles along with a minor in Disabilities Studies. Certified through Minnesota AuMN to work as a professional for people with ASD. Assessment and goal setting training through USAT Olympics. With my custom lessons I write in a journal book for them each week what we did in the lesson and what can be practiced before our next lesson. I love staying fresh by reading online coaching tips for swimming and have books I refers to often, "Total Immersion" in one of my favorites.
