FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Many factors inform the price of a mural. I charge a $500 design fee for an original design and have a project minimum of $2,000 for graphically simple murals less than 100 sq ft. (Please note: this pricing does not apply to all lettering, signage, painted logos, or other art commissions.) I will request a 50% deposit to schedule your project and the final 50% when the project is completed. The best way to determine a ballpark cost is to reach out, let me know your budget, and let's discuss! The exact price of your mural will vary depending on the following factors: Size of overall work The highest point and location (Will I need to rent a lift or scaffolding to reach your project? Special scaffolding for a 100ft stairwell? ) Level of detail (More detailed work generally takes more time.) Painting style (Certain styles require different techniques, time, and materials) Materials (For example: authentic golf leaf is more expensive than gold acrylic paint!) Travel or shipping costs (Am I driving to your location or shipping you a canvas roll?) Prep work or repairs (Is the wall damaged and in need of repair?) Protective coating (Outdoor murals might require a graffiti coating or high humidity indoor murals may require a clear coat.) Please note that painted signage, wallpapers, backdrops, and other painting services are priced differently than murals.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Step 1: Start With A Free Consultation Requesting a free, in-person or phone consultation is the best way to get an accurate quote for your project. During your consultation, we will: Take photos and measurements Discuss any ideas you have / brainstorm imagery together Review your space’s current aesthetics and your desired "look" of the new work Discuss your target price range and provide a rough cost estimate (final cost determined once design is finalized) Decide whether you’d like to commission a design Step 2: Design Proposal & Provide Quote After our consultation, I will send you a contract and invoice for the design fee to kick off your custom design, as well as a ballpark quote for the cost of the entire project. The mural design fee is a $500 non-refundable payment for your custom digital version of your artwork’s design concept and covers up to three rounds of edits. Additional rounds of edits are available for purchase or if you pay a 50% deposit for the full work. I request 3-4 weeks to turn around a design concept, and then I will send the proposed design to you along with a digital rendering of what it will look like in your space. We will adjust the design until you're completely satisfied. Step 3: We Will Schedule Your Project And Start Painting! Once we have your design finalized, I will send a contract and invoice for a 50% deposit to schedule your project. The remaining 50% will be due upon project completion. I am available to paint during weekday early mornings or evenings, depending on your needs, as well as weekends. In short – we will decide on a schedule that is most convenient for you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
