FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work with both buyers and sellers and am paid a commission. Sellers pay a commission, a percentage of which goes to the Buyer's agent. I am transparent about my fees and how I get paid, and discuss fees with clients at our first meeting.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I can't stress enough how important it is to find an agent who you feel comfortable with. Buying and/or selling a home takes time and energy, and partnering with an agent who you have a connection with is essential. We will be spending a lot of time together, and given its many moving parts, the home-buying and/or selling experience is not always smooth sailing. As part of my process I have an initial client consultation meeting, which is essentially a get-to-know you meeting to determine whether or not we are a fit. During this meeting, I will explain the process and the paperwork involved and answer any questions you have, but I will not pressure you to sign anything at this meeting. I understand that you may be interviewing more than one agent, and want to be sure it is a match for everyone involved. My goal is to earn your trust and confidence, with the goal of building a long-term relationship, not simply a transaction-based one.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Minnesota-licensed Realtor, and also hold a law degree, an MBA, and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. My legal, marketing, and counseling backgrounds and experience all lend themselves well to my role as a Realtor. I can help explain contract language and the buying/selling process, manage emotions around the process, and, for sellers, utilize my marketing background in marketing your listing. Additionally, I have the support and resources of other agents, a coach, and administrators at my agency, Greater Midwest Realty.
