Introduction
Estimates are always free! My minimum job fee is $190 This usually takes care of most small jobs and covers the first two hours. $80 per hour after that. I'm happy to source and pick up materials for you but I do charge a $50 material delivery fee for small deliveries.. and $150 for large material deliveries. After hours emergency service (Anything after 6pm) is available at a rate of $100 per hour. I do have a senior discount available. First things first, I carry a full business liability insurance policy for my protection and my customers! My focus is honest communication and guaranteed quality. I take my time with jobs and ensure a high level of attention to detail. The small things matter! I have an eye for that kind of thing. I've been doing home repair and remodeling since I was a teenager. Through the years I've worn many hats including...an Aircraft Mechanic. Being trained in aviation allows me to bring a special kind of attention to projects. Safety first, and a project has to have good bones. I stay on the job until the customer is satisfied, period. I'm passionate about helping people transform their lives through home repair and maintenance tasks. It's a pleasure to be able to serve the Minneapolis area.

I hired Jacob for a garage door repair and he was incredibly responsive. He gave me a quote very quick and scheduled the job soon after. The repair was done very well and it was a very smooth process. I would hire Jacob again.

Asked Jacob to fix a leaky toilet. He called ahead to understand the problem. Came same day and prepared to complete the repair. Great experience and I definitely will call him again.

Jacob has repaired or installed a number of items around our house, including a fence, deck work, painting, trim, door installation, flooring, dishwasher and faucet repairs. Excellent workmanship and a fair price.

If I could choose 4 items, I’d add value. After our home was broken into a few years ago, we got repairs done and a new door. But some small things were never finished. Jacob put up baseboards, repaired pieces of missing plaster and wood, and fixed up and painted the pine woodwork and our 2 doors. He was precise and did a beautiful job! I love seeing how it looks now!

My shower needed to be replaced due to mold and for several reasons (practical and aesthetic) that snowballed into addressing the wall tile and my ugly bathroom floors. Jacob was far more affordable than big renovation companies and far, far more responsive and timely than other contractors I’d tried reaching out to. He was extremely communicative the whole process. Tearing down all my shower/wall tile, demolding my shower, adding shiplap and related trim, and adding LVP planks came to about 7K including supplies, such as shower surround purchase etc. Final photos are before I do painting touch ups. Also, as a 20something female who lives alone handling her first reno and bringing someone into her home, Jacob’s whole vibe made me feel safe and respected. Will absolutely use him again as future projects arise.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelors of Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I taught myself how to use tools as a kid! I took my own training wheels off my bike and figured out how to ride by myself. As a teenager I was taught carpentry by my brother and went to college to be an aircraft mechanic. I’ve been doing home repairs and renovations since about 2010.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for someone willing to be honest and say “I don’t know”. It’s important to be able to be straight forward about what we’re good at and what we’re not experienced with!
