- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I customize the lessons to each student's goals and needs. I like to get to know a student in order to quickly discern what and how to teach. No two students will get the exact same lesson. That said, everyone will learn the fundamentals of playing (rhythm, melody, phrasing, harmony, basic theory). I pride myself on being very adaptable based on the amount and type of structure a student needs and the genre they enjoy.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My music degree included courses in music theory and ear-training as well as string education methods. I toured and performed in small and large ensembles. I have played in bands, performed for other musicians albums, and led music departments at churches. I have worked with individuals and groups of various sizes with differing skill levels.
