FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are many different ways legal fees are charged. For some matters, flat fees may be available. For others, a retainer is required, which is an advance payment on legal fees against which hourly fees are assessed. In some instances, unbundled services may be available. Unbundled services means legal assistance that is less than full representation and may mean assistance with document drafting or coaching for unrepresented litigants.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend regular Continuing Legal Education Courses in addition to participating on panels that help to direct statutory changes to existing laws.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you are seeking legal assistance, the consequences of the action can often be long lasting and even life changing. As a result, it is important to meet with your lawyer and to discuss the details and nuances of your case. You should feel well informed and have a comfort level with your attorney. Every lawyer has their own style and the last thing you want is to have a conflict with your own counsel.
