Introduction

Making custom quilts and blankets for someone gives me the opportunity to indulge my passion while making a one of a kind treasure that can be enjoyed for years to come. So you, as my client, decide exactly what you want it to look like...and I will deliver! After sewing and quilting as a hobby for more than 13 years, it is now my full time job, and I'm excited to use my time to create one of a kind pieces for my clients! I love the puzzle of putting the pieces of a project together and watching it take shape.

Helen did a great job on repairing my quilt. She made sure I was comfortable with everything she wanted to do to make sure she was finding all the areas where stitches had pulled out so that the repair was complete and comprehensive. She did a beautiful job.

I hired Helen to make some memory quilts and she was kind enough to sit with me, listen to my story, and consider what might be the best way to approach the projects. She sent design ideas and came up with thoughtful patterns. It began as a 3 quilt project that turned in to making a fourth and then several pillows for family members. Along the way, she was patient and thorough in communicating about details. Each quilt is well made and lovely and the pillows are amazing! So many family raved about how touched they were by the unique gift. Helen was extremely accommodating. She met me several times, working around my schedule and time frame, always willing to go the extra mile. I am so grateful for her work and plan to use her services again!

Helen was a joy to work with. She made 5 quilts for me for my husband and his siblings using my mother-in-laws clothes. She took the time to understand what I was looking for, gave ideas for the pattern of the quilts, and was always very timely. She did a great job communicating the progress being made, any questions or comments, and her quality of work is outstanding. I will happily select her again for any other quilting projects I may have in the future.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will either exchange email or chat on the phone for me to obtain basic information about the project in order for me to provide an accurate quote. The client then brings the materials to my home, and we plan how the piece will look when it is finished...or I can take what the client has and create a design on my own.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My step-mom taught me to quilt, and was a great teacher, and I also subscribe to quilting magazines.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My step-mom was a master quilter, and took me under her wing as her student. I found that I loved the process of planning a piece, choosing a design and materials, and fabricating the piece. I've now retired, and am indulging my hobby full time!
