FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to be as transparent with my pricing as possible. Something that I’ve always disliked about hiring contractors for myself in the past is the “that was just the quote” talk at the end. Whether your project is something to spruce up your living space, update an area in your home or fix an item that has already caused your family headache, I don’t want to surprise anyone with a bill for extra work that we didn’t agree upon.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Building relationships is a large part of the process for me. I know that we all do not have the same schedules and that I may have to come and do work while you are not home. I want to make sure that both parties are comfortable in our relationship before a customer lets me into their home.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Working many nights and weekends managing the local ice arena, I would moonlight during normal business hours with contracting companies that were owned by friends. My knowledge from commercial maintenance, these jobs and home ownership gave me the experience I needed to get started in customers homes.
