I am in my 50s and this is my first time with a one-on-one teacher, so I really don't have anything to compare it to. However; I can say that I found Joe to be knowledgeable and friendly. He doesn't treat you as if you are brainless just because you are learning something new, he treats you as an equal. You will begin from whatever level you are at and progress from there. Learning songs right from the get-go keeps it fun as well. As a beginner, I would recommend Joe for his no pressure, go at your own pace way of teaching that comes at a great price.

Joe is great, thus far. We have had 2 lessons. He is patient and kind and is definitely going at my pace. He seems knowledgeable and has helped with some tips and tricks to make certain things easier.
