FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is difficult to have a standard price for a roof (for instance) as there are so many details and questions that need answering. Is it steep? What is the pitch? How many layers? What material are we installing? Is it cut up? Are there valleys? Will a ridge vent be installed? But generally speaking, I have never lost a job due to price. With low overhead, we can price match (and go lower than) any licensed contractor out there.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we will talk on the phone to clearly identify the homeowner's needs, agree on a time to meet (shake hands, measure, look at materials). After that, I send out an emailed estimate. The process is very straight-forward with a no-pressure feel.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Initial training through hands on experience. Kaplan training courses for general contractor licensing. EPA lead certification courses. Continuing educations courses annually. Factory tours of manufacturers. Between our roofing and siding crews we have over 130 years of combined experience.
