FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price point starts at a fair $69.99 per hour as the standard rate. From there, I offer different discounts or premium add-ons that will depend on the program/material that we are working on. I also base my price point on a pay-as-you-go model and offer discounts for hour bundles purchased in advance. I also have potential discounts for the day and times of certain meetings. Even though I need to make a living from my profession, I also want to help others gain an understanding of the material and grow as a person. I am willing to give certain allowances depending on the given situation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step in the process is always a direct call (or message to reach out and set up a call) to discuss the exact services I can provide and ensure that I will be a good fit for the needs of the student. The client's time and efforts are all valuable; I will ensure that I am a perfect fit for the job by hearing where the client is starting from and that I can expertly perform the needed work. Once we make sure the fit is good, we will schedule a first meeting that best works for them, and I will ensure that all the material is either received or delivered (depending on the program) before the first meeting. I believe in making sure every moment of the work I do is productive, so I like to have us running toward the goal right from the first meeting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My formal educational background comes from a mix of a Psychology Major and a Counseling Master that also had many courses that examined teaching theory and techniques. I went to a college that was highly regarded as a top school for teachers, so I explored the material for a while before realizing that the standard institution of schools wasn't a good fit for me. It brought me to look at the profession of counseling as a way to help people learn how to navigate and find success in their day-to-day lives. That said, I found that I wanted a mix of a career that would let me be a bit more hands-on and directive with the concepts and process than what the counseling route would let me do. It eventually led me to find work within a tutoring company where I took a lot of the knowledge and abilities I developed from my past educational studies and polished it towards this outcome. However, it too was incredibly restrictive and limited the progress I could make with my clients to succeed. It brought me to start off on my own and use my abilities to the fullest to help so many succeed.
