- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Initial Consultation: Start with a free phone or in-person consultation to understand the client's needs, their dog's behavior, and any specific goals they have for training. 2. Assessment: During the first meeting, observe the dog’s behavior and assess its temperament, energy levels, and any challenges that may arise. This helps you tailor the training approach. 3. Customized Training Plan: Based on the assessment, create a personalized training plan that outlines the methods and techniques that will be used, along with a timeline for progress. 4. Training Sessions: Conduct regular training sessions at the client's home. During these sessions, demonstrate techniques to the owner, and work with the dog to reinforce the desired behaviors. 5. Progress Tracking: Keep track of the dog's progress and communicate it to the client. Adjust the training plan as necessary based on the dog's evolution and feedback from the owner. 6. Follow-Up: After the initial training period, schedule follow-up sessions or check-ins to ensure the owner and dog continue to progress and to address any new challenges. 7. Owner Education: Educate the dog owner on how to maintain the training and incorporate the techniques into daily routines for long-term success.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained with Todd Langston, who is one of Cesar Milans main trainers. I also completed a 4 month online course, Awareness - A Point of View Beyond The Dog taught by Linn Boyke. This class focused on the psychology of dog's. I also have various mentors that I talk to on a regular basis.
