FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I write very detailed estimates, itemized by room/area, broken down line by line with labor and paint cost. For each room you can expect to see how much is being charged for trim painting, ceilings, walls etc. along with approximate paint quantities. Unless additional labor is added to the project, it is rare that I exceed my estimates. I despise the idea of upcharging once a project begins. I write an estimate, you agree to the estimate, and we stick to it unless something notable comes up (unexpected wall repairs, additions to the project etc.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to receive a brief overview of the project before coming out for an estimate. Working solo, I am relatively selective with my projects and want to be mindful of both party's time. Texting or emailing the following helps jump start the estimate process: - Your address - Type of painting (walls, ceilings, trim etc.) - A few photos of the rooms/areas - Project deadline - How you found out about Tim Oliphant Painting
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BFA from GVSU and 18 years of professional painting experience.
