- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Because of the rural nature of northern Michigan I have a $40 trip fee for all of my work that is more than ten miles from Elk Rapids. This fee may be negotiable depending on the ultimate scope of the project. e.g. I may waive the trip fee on large projects. We have an hourly rate of $76.50 for the first person with a minimum of 1.5 hours; $60 for each additional person needed. If we have contracted an hourly plus materials agreement and I/we complete the project in less than 1.5 hours, we are happy to take care of a couple of other items to use up the remaining minimum charge. This rate is below the national average for skilled work of this kind. I am also happy to provide a fixed price for a particular project where possible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak to my clients if possible before making a quote. Especially for more complex things. I can provide a quote for more standard items such as a TV Mount at a given height with few or no obstructions. Built in shelves are another matter and would require a conversation and a site visit. I am always open to the creative direction of my clients. My goal is to meet their desired outcome.

I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I am a licensed residential builder in the State of Michigan.
