David Taylor, owner of Stop and Stare offers beautiful Metro Detroit Michigan wedding photography at affordable price points. At Stop and Stare, we believe it’s about much more than just having a good eye and a great camera. It’s about taking the time to get to know you and planning out the details in advance, so that you can get the most out of your wedding day photos with absolutely no stress on you. And when we say “no stress,” we really mean it. We will work with you on photo location scouting, poses, and we will put together a fool-proof shot list so that we can capture all of your most important photos. Not to mention, we will collaborate on your engagement photo session so that you and your fiance will be naturals in front of the camera on your wedding day! Over the past 10 years, I embraced photography whole-heartedly, spending endless hours behind the lens of my camera. I enjoy the idea of capturing life’s genuinely beautiful moments and am especially drawn to the influence of lighting on a photo and how it can help tell a story or set a mood. As a premier Metro Detroit Michigan photographer, I pride myself of having a keen attention to detail and will do anything to get the perfect shot in order to make my clients happy. I love a creative challenge through and through from scouting locations, selecting wardrobes and props to pursuing creative lighting techniques and posing. I will make your vision for your special day come to reality by getting to know you and truly understanding your goals for each shoot. I can’t even put into words how impressive his talent is! David literally gave us pictures that looked like they belonged in bridal magazines! I have never had so many pictures taken where I loved every last one of them! We received so many compliments on our wedding photos, I am obsessed with the images we received! David has amazing photography skills and his photos clearly speak of that on their own, and business wise, he is on top of it! He is very professional, and is great at instructing individuals during photography. He showed up early and got ready to go right away. He kept the atmosphere fun and read the vibes of the people he was working with very well! His jokes were a great added bonus for us all. I asked for first looks with my two sons and he captured the moment better than I could have imagined. He went above and beyond what we anticipated and we could not be more pleased with our wedding photos! His pricing is incredibly fair, especially considering we received hundreds of photos and we got them back way faster than we would have thought! We are so thankful we trusted David with Stop and Stare Photography! Highly recommend, as we will be returning clients for all our future photographer needs!!

My husband and I had the extreme pleasure of working with a professional photographer for the first time. David Taylor is not only polite, but his photography eye 👁‍🗨 caught some amazing pictures of our wedding. He kept within our schedule asked and moved in every direction possible to capture every moment of the 3 hours we hired him for. He saw things that were funny and touching and compiled a beautiful collaboration of pictures that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. My husband and I can't say Thank you enough to David for traveling so very far to get to us and provide us with magical moments caught in time. We will be hiring David again and highly suggest you hire him as well.

David made our day so easy and memorable. He was so professional from the beginning and made me feel so at ease. I am a very awkward person and really uncomfortable with cameras, but somehow he made it feel completely comfortable. My favorite shots are his candid photos. I can’t give more than 5 stars, but he definitely deserves at least 10!

We hired Dave for my daughters wedding! He was so enthused about our event ! He went above and beyond, even searching out the venue a week before to get the best photo ops! I want you to know that he was greatly talked about by our guests at the wedding! They thought he was truly amazing!! He captures just the right picture at the right moments! He is so full of creativity, he could of taken pictures for Days! I am incredibly pleased by the sneak peek I have received! Kudos to Dave at Stop and Stare Photography! These photos were a peak less then 24 hours post event!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I like to provide my clients with high quality photos at a value pricing structure. Simple, a la carte projects start at $199 and go up from there. I am happy to work with you to provide a package that meets your budget parameters. Also, if you book your wedding photography with me, I offer a 25% discount on your engagement session.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If you are interested in my services, let's have an initial phone or in-person consultation. I like to speak directly with my clients to find out exactly what they are looking to achieve. We can collaborate and share inspiration photos via email if you like and plan the photoshoot together. Or, if you prefer to leave the planning to the pros, I am happy to take the lead and direct you as needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a decade of practical experience and have attended countless classes and workshops in the areas of lighting, editing, Photoshop, and posing techniques.
