I recently moved into a small apartment space that was in desperate need of deep cleaning from the previous tenet. I was reluctant to hire someone, as I didn’t want to have to accumulate additional costs for an already-expensive move. As a single profesional women, however, my work schedule and traveling lifestyle prevented me from the opportunity to set aside the time needed, as well as the supplies I’d have to purchase, to really address the condition of the space. My mom is the one who convinced me to hire someone. Jocyln, owner of J & A Tidy Services, came to my apartment the morning after I reached out to hire someone. I was so grateful to have someone available on such short notice. Immediately, she identified areas of great need and I felt at peace over her attentiveness and similar response that I had to seeing the demand of a 600-square foot apartment that has gone without extensive cleaning for multiple years. Her ability to recognize and relate to my standards put me at ease and i felt more than comfortable leaving my apartment with her in it. As she builds a reputable business and loyal clientele with her approachable style and attention to detail, Joslyn is in the process of training staff to work with her. She had two individuals to clean my apartment. When I returned to the space, I felt great relief to see how clean some of the appliances were that felt hopeless and impossible for me to tackle. The duo of cleaners transformed a refrigerator with mold, a tub with scratches, dirt, and mildew, and a toilet that was in unacceptable condition. They removed grime from the stovetop and around the kitchen sink and bathroom sink faucets. There were some areas in the apartment, however, still in need of cleaning. I felt disappointed to have paid and tipped for a service that still required me to perform additional cleaning. I sent photos to Joslyn who was prompt in response and agreed that there were areas where the cleaning was not fully complete. She made me feel heard, valued, and validated in my concern. She received my feedback gracefully and brightly; empathically and with care - an often under-practiced quality in businesses. I really value businesses that can own their areas of improvement and come alongside of a customer to make sure that satisfaction is achieved. That is remarkable and rare by which to come. Joslyn personally returned to my apartment at a time when I was free to review the areas still needing attention and she scrubbed the kitchen floor and walls, which were still caked in years-worth of dirt. She was pleasant and positive, making sure that I received the results I felt entitled to have with my payment. She brought light to the room in appearance - moreso, she brought a sense of relief and freedom to the burden I felt of initially inheriting someone else’s mess. It is because of Joslyn’s value of the customer experience and her dedication to high standards, along with her warmth and willingness to professionally and gracefully receive feedback, that I will be hiring her again in the future for generic cleanings throughout the year. She is someone who is willing to correct and care for an outcome that has fallen short and do everything she can to demonstrate her investment in her client’s space. That to me is something priceless and so important in any business partnership. Recognizing that she is branching off and beginning a business of her own, I see it is admirable and bold to come into such an extraordinary understanding. And she is doing it with openness, perseverance, professionalism, and extraordinary attention to the customer expectation and relationship. I will be promoting Josyln and J & A Tidy Services to any family or friends in the area who seek to have highly measurable results and a friendly, genuine, hard-working staff with whom to coordinate in transforming and brightening their homes. I do not take Josyln’s willingness to return, nor her outstanding skills and attention for granted.
