FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started in the trades working in commercial concrete construction. I spent 2 years building foundations, piers, stairs, slabs, sidewalks, buttresses, etc. Knowing I wanted to be a contractor in the future, I made the decision to move into the residential market. I spent 2 years working under a home builder where I learned many other aspects of building a house. My experience with him includes frame to finish carpentry, siding, exterior waterproofing, installing windows and doors, rot repair, roofing, basement waterproofing, basement finishing, etc.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients have been home owners looking to complete small jobs. I have also worked with landlords and property managers to complete projects on their rental properties.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently installed a wood stove for a client. He was short on space in his living room so I did the research to understand how to install a heat shield to reduce wall clearances. I found this project to be very rewarding as I had learned something new and helped my client reduce his heating bill before winter arrived.
