Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

We originally hired Paul to repair a two-story wall on the outside of our circa 1750’s house that had been water-damaged on both the outside and inside. This involved both structural and cosmetic work including replacing a portion of the sill, reinforcing the original post and beam construction, re-framing windows, and replacing insulation, sheathing, and siding along with replacing sheetrock on the inside. We were very pleased with the quality and workmanship of the completed project so we had Paul complete additional work involving replacement of trim on windows and doors throughout the exterior of the house. We also had him replace an exterior door and build an interior bulkhead door. We found Paul to be a conscientious, hard-working, skilled individual. He shows great attention to detail and was easy to deal with. We will definitely hire him again in the future.

Details: Walls • Replacement of portions of existing structure • Residential

Paul was a pleasure to do business with. I don't know if I've met a kinder builder.. He took time to explain in detail what he was doing, and left ample space for me to ask questions, etc. He provided cost details so that there were no surprises. I'm happy to recommend Paul ! Rich Gouette Auburn, ME

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started in the trades working in commercial concrete construction. I spent 2 years building foundations, piers, stairs, slabs, sidewalks, buttresses, etc. Knowing I wanted to be a contractor in the future, I made the decision to move into the residential market. I spent 2 years working under a home builder where I learned many other aspects of building a house. My experience with him includes frame to finish carpentry, siding, exterior waterproofing, installing windows and doors, rot repair, roofing, basement waterproofing, basement finishing, etc.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of my clients have been home owners looking to complete small jobs. I have also worked with landlords and property managers to complete projects on their rental properties.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently installed a wood stove for a client. He was short on space in his living room so I did the research to understand how to install a heat shield to reduce wall clearances. I found this project to be very rewarding as I had learned something new and helped my client reduce his heating bill before winter arrived.
