FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate for residential cleaning is $35/HR. I do not charge for estimates, travel, or for the time I spend walking through a home with the customer to gather info and details from them. I consider that to be part of the estimate which I do not charge for. Turnover cleaning for short-term rentals ranges from $35/HR to $40/HR depending on the specific details and frequency of turnovers. Some of my customers choose to pay me an agreed upon set amount per turnover clean regardless of how long it takes (based on the typical/average number of hours it takes to clean) which is simple and easy for everyone. I am open to discussing and using an hourly rate or a set dollar amount per cleaning for turnovers. Deep cleaning and one time move-in or move-out cleanings are $40/HR. This kind of work is more time consuming and entails a lot of scrubbing and physical effort. I also charge a bit more per hour for these job types over my residential rate because it is a one time job instead of ongoing work. No matter which type of cleaning job I am doing I always provide all cleaning tools and products and do not charge for travel time or estimates.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially, I like to speak to the customer by phone to get a sense of what their specific needs are and what they are trying to accomplish. If it is a bigger or more complex job then I prefer to do a walk thru prior to cleaning. I review my rates and discuss what the expectations are for myself and the customer so everything is clear before we begin working together. I always offer to provide contact information for several of my current customers for references. I also offer my website address so they can check out photos of my work and online reviews from past & current customers. Typically if all of that goes well and we choose to work together then we schedule a date for the first cleaning and plan to walk through the house together when I arrive so I can take notes and get a firm sense of their priorities and what they want me to get done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am still working on my bachelor's degree in Business Management. I also have years of cleaning experience in a range of settings that helps me to do this job well.
