Will did an excellent job for me replacing two exterior doors in an older home. He ran into a few issues due to the ways they built homes years ago, addressed them with me, and he fixed the issues that were needed. Will was communicative, respectful, and did not cut corners, which I find highly valuable in a contractor. "Professionalism", "Work Quality", and "Value" just scratch the surface of why we liked having Will (also known as AmeriCraft) work on our late 1700's house. Doing anything to our old cape is a challenge because you don't know what you're going to find when you start pulling off boards. I knew that from work I'd done years before. Will's ability to communicate what he'd found, and what it meant, and what options we had, was outstanding. This included texting and emailing proactive updates. Even on a delay that wasn't his responsibility: he knew they mattered to us. My wife and I always had the final say on any choice he brought to us. That, along with his ethic of constant work on our project when he was here, impressed us. We needed two new doors and jambs, a front one and a back one. The back door opened into a fenced-in area for the dogs, and required a high-end dog door to be installed. This meant he was walking through the downstairs frequently--he couldn't get to the back door otherwise--but we didn't mind a bit because we quickly came to respect him as an honest, friendly guy that happened to be an expert carpenter, and was doing an excellent job. It was like he lived next door and we'd known him for years. The big picture is this: great work for a fair price. What more can you ask for?

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually once I have an Idea of the work needing to be done I'll provide an estimate. If the estimate is agreed upon, there is a 30% deposit and we set a start date and the adventure begins.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Doing this as long as I have you run into all sorts. Most are very nice and courteous. They give you your space and "leave you to it" but there are those that have been done wrong by other contractors before and have a tainted opinion/ attitude which can make it challenging. There has to be a level of trust and understanding in the relationship between customer and contractor or nothing goes smoothly.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently did a recessed oak book case that came out really good. Even with covid restrictions and complications on site it was a fun job. I cut all the pieces in my shop and then assembled them at the home as I couldn't get the book case up the stairs if it was put together. Not the best environment to assemble a bookcase but still performed my magic and built and installed the 74 inch by 41 inch bookcase.
