Tony took a look at the photos I provided and was able to talk me through fixing the issue over the phone. I’ve neverhad a technician do that for me. I’m going to be so completely honest in my review. I regret not reading previous reviews. In an attempt to try and save money, I accepted for this company to come. On the phone the guy told me the price would be either $329 OR $459. I made sure to explain on the call that the wall would need to be open and there was a pipe disconnection. I even sent pictures of the issue. As soon as he gets here he tells me it’ll be $159 to open up the wall or I can open it up. I obviously can’t do it so I told him you never told me over the phone the the price and he said it was a fee I told you but he never told me the actual price but regardless I said okay. He does the job, he attempts to use the parts that I have but it still was leaking so he asked me to come down and told me the price would now be either $967 or $1796. I instantly regretted not going with Mr. Rooter. I told him I’d get another quote because Mr. Rooter quoted me wayy less! They didn’t open anything up and knew immediately what would have to be done. Mr. Rooter was honest from the beginning and wanted me to save money so suggested I go with a smaller business or get a handyman. Now, in reading the reviews it seems this company has a technique of coming early quoting one price then inflating it. I believe in supporting small businesses but I also believe is supporting honest small businesses. If I hadn’t had the quote from Mr.Rooter I wouldn’t have had the job done for $870.35. Mr. Rooter quoted me $702. I’m a single young woman doing everything by myself and it was honestly disheartening when I saw his pattern of inflation. I’m a kind person so because he was already in the home I allowed him to do the work. The parts he inflated weren’t even new lol. I believe the pipe may be new possibly (I’ll attach a photo) but the cover drain was old and he didn’t even have the screws for the drain cover, which I’ll be ordering on Amazon for an extra $10. All in all, always get atleast 3-4 quotes for every plumbing job. Then go with the one who is honest and consistent in pricing. I could’ve saved $180 going with Mr. Rooter, and using that money to close up the holes in the wall. If I didn’t have that quote he would’ve tried to get me for the $967-$1796. I will like to add that I made a mistake and showed him the wrong place for where the pipe is and he did find the correct hole for where the pipe is. So even though he saw I was left with having to patch up 2 holes he still tried to get me for almost $2000 which is MAD. I’ll also say the work was done and there were no further leaks. He did a good job in ensuring the work was done properly for me and I appreciated it. Just idk I’m use to dealing with honest people but in everything there is a lesson. Get MULTIPLE quotes, don’t let a plumber come early in the morning thinking they can confuse you with plumber language, and trust your gut when you know a person is attempting to finesse. I honestly think I could’ve go this done for under $700 but I know God will replace the money. Especially since I’m moving and fixing up my home for the new tenants. Also to reconnect the pipe took him less than 45 mins. It was a quick reconnection. The crazy part is I think he could be a great business, he can clearly do the work and do it effectively but for me the ethics ain’t there.
