The purpose of Turtle Island Restoration is to transform green spaces into native food and medicine forests.
We specialize in:
- Land surveying, which entails identifying every plant species in the space.
- Invasive and non-native species removal, which entails creating and executing a plan to permanently remove and replace plant species that are harming the local ecosystem.
- Plant selection, which involves researching the original ecosystem of your space and examining climate change modeling data to provide you with a list of plants that could thrive in your space for you to choose from.
- Local plant sourcing. We tap into a national network of native plant gardeners to see if we can find the seeds and saplings needed to restore your space, completely free of charge. If plants are not available within our networks, we will buy and transport the plants to you from local native nurseries.
- Planting and monitoring. We will get all plants into the ground, mulch, and put up deer fencing if needed. All plantings come with a free 1-week, 1-month, and 1-year check-in from the team to ensure your plants are thriving.
