FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Although our engineering service fee is within the average market rate, usually it is flexible to negotiate. We can consider discounts depending on the conditions of the project and the owner. Our clients' testimonials and reviews imply that the service fee that we offer is satisfactory for the service they demand.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we request as much as information as possible, to get an understanding of the scope of the work. Except in rate situations, this makes the base for our cost estimate. Any technical documents that we release to our projects are signed and stamped. For projects that need calculations, sketches or detail drawings, we sign sign an agreement letter (contract) with the client to clarify and record the scope of work, payments and other information.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Dr. Akbar Pirmoz has nearly two decades of experience in structural engineering and related academic research. He is the president and founder of the company. His engineering experience includes structural design, performance evaluation, seismic retrofit, construction administration and forensic engineering of a wide spectrum of projects including tall buildings, industrial facilities, deep foundations, retaining walls and historic buildings. Many of these projects have been designed against earthquakes, progressive collapse, vibration and flood, some of which demanded dynamic, nonlinear, soil-structure interaction and high-fidelity finite element analyses. His research on steel connections & members, progressive collapse, damped vibration, seismic reliability as well as displacement-based seismic design have been published in several academic journals and conference proceedings. He has lectured Applied Computational Methods in Civil Engineering, a graduate course, in the Catholic University of America (CUA) and Construction of Metal Buildings in Kamal University. He is also a member of the intelligent material research team in the CUA. Dr. Pirmoz is a licensed professional engineer in Virginia and Maryland.
