I'm Jordyn Schettino (BFA, MA), a Dance Teaching Artist and the Founder & Director of The Movement Endeavor. With a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography, a K-12 Dance Education Certification, and a Master's degree in Dance Education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my teaching practice. My background in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap has expanded to include ballroom dance, thanks to my training with Arthur Murray. I specialize in providing personalized dance instruction for children, teens, and adults. Whether you're looking for technical training, wedding dance lessons, social dance skills, a fun birthday party or employee team-building activity, or simply a way to connect with your physical self through dance, I can help. After interviewing 3 dancers for private lesson for our daughter, we decided to go with Jordyn. She has been a wonderful ballet/pilate instructor to our daughter, and motivates her in positive ways. Our daughter is now enjoying her dance lessons with Jordyn and plans to continue it throughout summer. We are so glad that we found her.

Jordyn is an excellent dance instructor. She played a key role in preparing my mother and me for our mother-daughter wedding dance. Despite my moderate dance experience and my mother’s complete beginner status, Jordyn’s patience and understanding were evident as she crafted a routine that perfectly matched our individual abilities. She paid detailed attention to our coordination, teaching us the steps, and guided us on how to create memorable photographic moments during the dance, aligned with musical cues. Her personalized approach made my mom feel confident and prepared on the big day, despite having zero previous formal dance experience. Our performance was met with enthusiastic praise from our wedding guests, who were particularly impressed by the heartfelt and enjoyable mother-daughter dance. In addition to this, Jordyn also assisted my husband and me in preparing for our first dance as a married couple. Although my husband is an advanced dancer and we already knew the steps, Jordyn’s expertise helped us elevate our performance by refining our dance coordination to musical cues, smoothing our transitions between songs, choreographing our entrance, and perfecting our technique for the dip, adding a very polished touch to our multi-song first dance. Jordyn was extremely helpful in such a short notice, I don’t believe how lucky I was to get booked with her. As someone who has almost no dance experience, I went in a little nervous/self conscious about how the session would go. I was immediately put to ease when I walked in. It was a relaxed environment and Jordyn made it very easy to loosen up. I went from being skeptical of how I would do to really enjoying the lesson. Jordyn is a great motivator and I look forward to working with her in the future!

We booked Jordyn for our 4 year old’s birthday party and she was amazing! The kids loved her! She came with a lot of props and music and was very high energy. She kept the kids engaged and everyone loved her! She incorporated the theme of the party in her dance class, it was great!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer high quality instruction due to extensive experience and education. The Movement Endeavor offers In-Home and In-Studio lessons. In-Studio lessons include a studio rental fee. Please see gallery image for pricing table. Package pricing available, inquire for details. Cancelation Policy: Lessons canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson are subject to a fee equal to 50% of the lesson cost. Lessons canceled within 3 hours of the scheduled lesson will be charged the full lesson cost.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Are you looking for In-Home or In-Studio lessons? In-Home: Instructor travels to you. In-Studio: Available at two locations: - 9908 S. Glen Rd. Potomac, MD 20854 - 1572 Whitehall Rd. Annapolis, MD 21409 It's your class! I am most interested in discovering what it is you're looking to get out of dance education.
