Juan was simply outstanding and is a true professional of his trade. He showed up exactly when he said he would ready for the job. Juan was able to guide me in several decisions to make sure I was making the correct choices in trimming numerous large trees. The final product has really transformed the view out of our windows. Let me tell you about J&D Mendez Landscaping and then the pictures of the front of the house will support and prove this review . . . The back yard has the same "Picture Perfect" finish.
This is a long review - stay with me :) - I am a senior citizen and love to provide details . . .
As anyone does using "Thumbtack", I posted my project and waited for the responses. Here came Juan - Responsive and Punctual - Told me - "Will see you on Tuesday at 9AM" - at 8:58AM- Juan and crew were in my driveway, oh yea, it was raining.
He walked the property, we discussed the tasks and he gave me a price for a complete spring clean-up. Additionally, he noted a few tasks I was not aware of - a tree branch overhanging the house, some other tree and bush maintenance that needed to be done, but told me to think about it, he would do it anytime - no pressure. WHAT? No hard sells, no padded work to increase the estimate - a true HONEST experienced landscaper with the experience to note how to maintain property the RIGHT way.
He laid out the game plan for the day and also let me know if the job was not complete, he would finish up the next day - Plan complete - true to his word.
Juan is a professional who provides a personal approach to his work. He and his crew are all about customer satisfaction, but more over, they performed magic on my yard. Each task was performed as if this was their home. They even added a few touches in the design of the mulched beds for a unique esthetic look.
Spring cleaning is a messy project, but you would never know because the drain spouts are back in place, the trash cans are in place, pruned debris is gone, all walkways and porches are clean - Okay, I know you are thinking that should be done - well, in my experience with a number of previous landscapers, these things are not done and there are at least 2-3 things I have to do while walking the property post grass cutting/landscaping day.
Now this was embarrassing- I have a few small decorative trees and grasses and all of them needed their spring clean-up. Okay, I will admit, I was a bit anxious as one of these decorative trees is a "Dwarf Weeping Cherry" and it is not pruned like other small trees. Now . . . I have to admit - he can prune one better than I can and I have been pruning this one for over 10 years. He asked me was the pruning of the tree okay and I asked him - "Do you know what kind of tree that is?" His response "Yes, it is a weeping cherry tree" - OMG - a first - not one landscaper has even know what kind of tree it is, much less know how to prune it properly - I have trained more landscapers than I care to remember. Oh yea, the crape myrtles and the decorative grasses received a touch-up too. As Juan was leaving - he pointed to the weeping cherry and told me "I love that tree" . . . I said "Yea, I do too" . . . that is the kind of landscaper he is and that is the quality of work he has instilled in his crew . . .
Juan is honest making his prices more than reasonable, loves his work, loves properties and their own uniqueness, and he has the utmost respect for other people's property. Because of this - he will be tending to my home on a regular basis.
WOOOHOO - constant curb appeal - this is going to be a great summer season !!!!

Juan and his team did a wonderful job on our overgrown front yard. What would have taken us many weekends and hours took them 3 hours to complete. The quality of their work is excellent and we will definitely hire them for additional projects we have.
