- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We can give ballpark quotes through thumbtack but ultimately we require a trip to your home to provide a free estimate. Every home/ business and pest situation can be different and we want to make sure we are accurately treating it so it's gone for good!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Did you know we're one of the only companies in the area with Maryland certified bed bug dogs? Yep, you heard that right, dogs! We have 6 canines on staff and they are always busy! The dogs can detect CO2 emitted by bed bugs and show a certain behavior when they smell it. The dogs help to either confirm or deny a beg bug infestation. While a person can't see bed bugs hiding inside a mattress or chair, the dogs are always able to let us know they're there. This is what makes our treatment methodology so successful! Many companies will offer to spray or apply a pesticide to get rid of the bed bugs and although that may get rid of some, others are still hiding and can start new generations of them! The ONLY way to ensure a bed bug is dead for good is heat! We set up heat chambers and put your beds, couches, etc in them. This type of treatment along with the crack and crevice dust treatment is the only sure way to get rid of them for good! Other companies may offer to heat your whole home, room, or apartment but there is always cool places the bugs can find to get to an stay alive (I.e under the foot of the couch, believe us we've seen it!) In addition, it can cause them to run to another room or in an apartment setting to your neighbor! 1-2 weeks after the treatment, we have the dogs run through again to make sure there are none left! We have found this is the ONLY approach to ensure those pesky pests are gone for good!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Ask about hidden prices when getting quotes from pest control companies. At Regional we don't have any "got ya's" with our programs. This is why the free inspection is so important! When it comes to pests, it is very difficult to provide a quote until we can see the problem ourselves. When you get quotes from other companies, make sure you ask if there could be any additional costs. For example, companies may offer a low price for a quarterly service, but what they don't tell you is they charge a large set up or initiation fee. Same thing with bed bug treatments, they may offer a crack and crevice treatment for a fraction of the cost, but you may end up needing that treatment 5 times and the bugs still aren't gone! Rest assured that all of our treatments, regardless of type, come with a warranty. If we don't fix it the first time, we continue to come out until the problem is gone and there is never an additional cost!
