My primary motivation for doing this job is for great customer reviews. Yes of course, the money is undeniably important; but the latter tends to follow the former in my experience! I am a professional hungry to establish the best freelance bartending business in the DC-MD-VA Metro area and will act accordingly. I truly love what I do and I can assure every customer it will be reflected in my knowledge, experience, friendliness, and enthusiasm during every event. Our motivation is simple: Interacting with Customers, making specialty drinks, learning to make new drinks suggested by customers, traveling, meeting new people; basically GETTING PAID TO HAVE FUN WITH LOTS OF COOL PEOPLE!!!

Our bartender, Jontae was great! she arrived early, set everything up, and was a hit with the guests at our wedding. I got multiple compliments for Jontae from guests, and we were so glad she was able to work with us. I definitely reccomend!

As an event planner, I’ve worked with many different vendors who all bring their invaluable expertise and experience to the table. Anton and Crissy blew me away though! From start to finish, Anton was amazing. When we decided to increase the number of bartenders on short notice, he went above and beyond to look for one all while making sure to keep me in the loop. If I had a question or concern, he was there to help. He was kind and patient, and I’m pretty sure he answered the same question that was rephrased a few times haha. All of this paired with his skillset and understanding of the industry made working with him feel like I had a partner who was just as invested in making the event a success as much as I was. Crissy and her assistant were a treasure to have work the event and bartend, the energy and attention to detail was spot on. The birthday boy turned 90 and we had a very large group of people of all age ranges but there wasn’t a time that I didn’t look over at the bar and wasn’t impressed that Crissy was able to put a smile on anyone’s face. She takes bartending to another level by empathizing and understanding the people she is serving while also paying special attention to the person the event was for. She might honestly be Wonder woman because she was able to do it all! If you have an event and are lucky enough to find Dr. Mix-A-Lot, make sure to jump on the opportunity to hire them because you won’t be disappointed! I know they’ll be the first name that comes to mind for my next event where I need a bartender.

Before the event, getting the request, order, and payment were super simple. Anton was very responsive and flexible when I changed my mind on a couple minor details about the event. Super modern invoicing system that can be done all electronically! Super convenient! Tae, our bartender, was great! Set up the bar in record time and all guests had nothing but great things to say about her drink making skills. I would definitely hire Tae and Dr. Mix-a-lot in the future without hesitation. Made our party so smooth and easy for us as hosts of a 65ish person housewarming party.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Dr. Mix-A-Lot, LLC offers the following for 40/hr (Gratuity INCLUDED): * A professionally dressed, friendly, and knowledgeable mixologist (up to 4) * Full beverage service: wine, beer, alcohol, spirits and mocktails * One half-hour bar setup * One hour bar breakdown/cleanup * Professional mixing equipment (i.e., pourers, shakers, strainers, paring knife, wine key, etc.) * Up to 4 additional, professionally trained bartenders Bartenders assigned based on availability. See website for pricing options. Get extra 15% off the hourly rate for allowing a tip jar. Additional discounts still apply. First-time customers get 25% off the first hour! Add $2.75 per hour per 10 extra guests. Additional bartenders/servers can be provided for $30/hr ($175 minimum) each. There is a $200.00 flat rate for parties lasting three hours or less (including setup/cleanup). ALL contractors associated with Dr Mix-A-Lot, LLC are certified in at least one of the following: - Techniques in Intervention Procedures (TIPS, nationally recognized program) - Techniques in Alcohol Management (TAM, Sponsored by Maryland State Licensed Beverage Association & Maryland Liquor Stores Association)
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I bartended part time in college for one year and then went to grad school. While looking to start my career out of grad school, I thought bartending would be a good way to pay the bills. I now work for the DOD during the day and bartend at night for extra income. It is truly a hobby that pays! I like working private parties most of all, so that is why I started a freelance business.
