- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Come out meet the customer and assess the site, take photos, measurements and notes. Then I’ll usually go put the numbers together and come up with a work proposal as what will and will not be included on the project within 48 hours. Photos are used in conjunction with software to show the customer some of the possibilities as far as materials, colors, textures and scale of their project. Often times, there are amendments or discounts that take place before final contract is signed. Some projects may require a 50% deposit up front If customer likes proposal then a date is set work begins according to customers schedule.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be actively involved with the decisions that need to be made for your project. Your opinion matters most. Make yourself available to the landscape contractor as far as questions regarding materials to be used, exact placement of items and even possible set backs that may be encountered by the contractor on the work site. Also, talk to potential contractors about their work plan for your project. Does it make sense? Even a quick web search will yield you some general knowhow of the steps involved with your project. Is this what your getting from the contractors work proposal??
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What are the exact final results that you are looking for? Try to make that clear up front at the first meeting with contractor, as it will make the process much easier for both parties.
