Phil was very easy to work with, and 100% successful in recovering a ton of data from a non-functioning thumb drive! It was simple: drop it in the mail, venmo once recovery was completed, and return by mail.

I don’t know what to say about this company that hasn’t already been said. I had three items that needed data recovery, two external harddrives and a very old desktop. I reached out to Phil late xmas eve with an immediate response and he had me drop the drives off on xmas day…I couldn’t believe it. He recovered data from all three items, which surprised me, particularly the desktop which was about 15 years old. It took 3 days to get the items back but he maintained contact with me throughout and assured security/safety has the drives had personal information on them. He gave me a very good price as well considering I had three. I strongly recommend his services if you ever need data recovery!!!!

After calling around to find data recovery services for my 2TB Seagate Slim Plus, I was aghast at the prices and the fact that most of them were going to send it somewhere to be worked on. Seagate had agreed to do it for me, but it would take up to one month. My boss said anytime he has tried to get data recovered, it has always failed. So, I wasn’t too optimistic when I came across Shaw Computer Services. Even with all the 5-star reviews, I didn’t expect more than a “Sorry, couldn’t get anything for you, but you now owe me $$$$$” Well, OMG! I talked to Phil and dropped off my drive on Friday at 8:30AM. He called me at 7PM the same day and said, “all your data has been recovered!”. Unbelievable! And the price…. you will still be able to pay the bills and go out to eat. So affordable. And if he hadn’t been able to recover anything, there would have been no cost…. not even to diagnosis the problem. I can whole heartedly recommend Phil Shaw for all your data recovery needs. If I could, I would give him 10 stars!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices start at $375 for hard drives and $175 for thumb drives. With hard drives the prices can go higher if parts are needed or if a lot of work is required. I always discuss the price with my customers before starting work on a drive.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the IT business for thirty-two years mostly working on disk array systems. When I decided to start my own data recovery company six years ago I did some intensive training with Scott Moulton and earned my CDRE (Certified Data Recovery Expert) degree. I have since done over 1400 recoveries and the best thing is I love doing it.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had been in the IT field for a long time and I was making a clone of my work hard drive when it froze up. I ended up turning the computer off and when I turned it back on nothing happened. I was able to get the data back by hooking the drive to a computer with a different operating system. It was thrilling and I realized that I wanted to start my own data recovery company.
