FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge per job and not by the hour. Once I get a clear idea of the scope of work and what the customer wants exactly, I give an estimate on the work. A general idea of pricing is as follows: **Very small room (ex. powder room, half bath) - $350 **Small room (ex. bathroom) - $450 **Medium room (kitchen, bedroom, living room) - $550 **Large Room (large master bedroom, living room) - $650 **Price includes labor, paint and other materials (2 coats of paint on walls and one coat of paint on doors and trim). Prices are for reference only and should be used as a general estimate as factors such as wall repair and number of coats may affect price. I do not have any hidden fees. However, during the course of the work, should additional services or materials arise outside the original scope of work, I discuss these changes or add-ons with the customer ahead of time so that we are clear about any additional costs/ materials.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we connect on Thumbtack, I like to further communicate via phone or text to e-meet the customer and understand their specific needs. It is also very helpful for the customer to provide pictures so that I can give an accurate estimate and provide the best service. This way we’ve gotten a chance to meet each other either by phone or text, determine the specific scope of work and agree on a price before work commences.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve learned most everything from my dad who had owned a small but high-end painting business for 40+ years. I began working with him as a young boy and during summer vacations while in high school and college. Later I became his lead painter and began my own small side business. I’ve worked mostly with residential clients in Northwest D.C. and in Montgomery county but now serve a large area around the D.C Metropolitan area.
