helped me see how much space I had to work with. From there, we sorted my clothes, accessories, and shoes and decided what to keep, donate, or toss. It felt so refreshing to let go of things I no longer needed!
Once we had only the items I loved and actually wore, we grouped them by category—tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes, hats—and color-coded everything for a streamlined look. We also organized my seasonal pieces, storing off-season items. Doing so made accessing what’s in season now easier. This process keeps the closet clutter-free and more functional year-round.
We added tremendous space-saving solutions like velvet hangers, shelf dividers, counter organizers, and dedicated areas for hats so they’re organized and easy to grab. My closet feels twice as big now, and finding what I’m looking for is easy. Plus, I’ve rediscovered some great pieces I hadn’t worn in ages!

My biggest concerns were (1) purging old/ useless filler pieces and (2) reorganizing the balance of what was left (my key pieces) so that I could see the holes of what I NEEDED. As we know, it is hard to discard some of your old "favs", so having someone there with no emotional connection was vital to streamlining my closet. This experience allowed me not to feel bad about shopping for new items and grabbing fresh/ new key pieces to add-in to my closet. The cherry-on-top was getting a small list of places to sell or consign my loved items therefore I could avoid donating (only); I can make a little money and use to reinvest for my new shopping-- a win/win!
