- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For weddings: Buttercream cakes start at $6 per serving Fondant cakes start at $8 per serving Prices go up based on customization needs, add-ons, etc Delivery and set up fee is charged based on location
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the initial inquiry, I schedule a brief telephone consultation with the customer to discuss the cake and the design of the cake as it relates to the event. Once the design is established, I quote the customer a price and a cake contract and invoice is sent to the customer via email. Once the deposit is paid, the date is secured. Wedding cakes are delivered on the day and all other cakes are picked up.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve always known how to bake. However last year during the planning of my wedding, I woke up one day and decided that I wanted to decorate cakes. I had no idea how but I taught myself and made cakes daily to mirror inspo cakes I saw online and do other designs I thought up in my head. Being a hobby baker was something I thoroughly enjoyed but I began to get requests…then the rest is history
