Coach Tyree has been great working with our 14 year old son in his swim development. The price and value is fair and easy to coordinate. There has been measurable progress made in all areas of swim instruction. Compared to other swim coaches , coach Tyree stands alone as the best. We will continue to work with him in the future. My son has spent his Mondays with Tyree over the past year. Over the course of the year, he’s learned to have confidence in the water. The time and effort Tyree has spent with my son provide him the skills required to swim independently at 5 years old. Tyree provides real time feedback and recommendations to support the development of learning. He’s been patient, provides encouragement throughout the lessons so my son felt comfortable being in the water with him. I’m extremely appreciative to have Tyree as a member of our community teaching children a vital life skill that’ll last them a lifetime. As a coach, with a busy schedule, he has always been flexible with calendars, any last minute changes and accommodations were always provided. Thank you for all you do Tyree!

I had really low self esteem before I started swimming with Tyree. Because of his patience, dedication to service , I am a much better swimmer and it allowed me to gain my confidence back. If you’re hesitant to try him out, don’t be! Sign up now and in a few weeks, you’ll be swimming better than a dolphin :)

Coach Tyree is an awesome swim instructor. He has amazing patience and works EXTREMELY well with kids. We have a 6 year old and the time spent in lessons paid off in the best way possible for him. He teaches technique in a manner that made things easy which made the entire experience comfortable. I highly recommend him and we will be back again this summer.

Working with Tyree and Not Yet Pro was a great experience. I’ve always enjoyed swimming for fitness but never had a coach or trainer. Working with a coach took my workout a new level! Tyree is extremely knowledgeable, tailored my lessons to fit my level and ability and pushed me beyond what I thought I could do. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants increase their abilities, maximize their fitness, and to get more out of their time in the pool.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is dictated by the Sport Fit Bowie Gym rates. Sport Fit Bowie Members 30 minute lessons: $50 60 minute lessons: $100 Non Members 30 minute lessons: $70 60 minute lessons: $140
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'll talk first so I can get a gauge of your goals. Then, I'll meet you where your skills are and we'll begin to progressively get to your goal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At the age of 11, I became a competitive swimmer. I swam for the PDR swim team, featured in the movie PRIDE. I reached my goal of becoming a NCAA Division I swimmer. I was a lifeguard for about 10 years, starting at age 15. I have been teaching lessons for over 20 years now. In 2023, I completed the WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certification. It is a credential issued by the American Red Cross that qualifies individuals to teach swim lessons and water safety courses. It covers essential skills such as stroke technique, swim instruction methods, class management, and water safety education. A WSI-certified instructor can teach people of all ages how to swim, improve their technique, and stay safe in and around water.
