Introduction

ARTIS is a family-owned luxury custom woodworking and fine cabinetry business. Owner and master craftsman Luke Agnew received his formal woodworking and carpentry education at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. He received his training from some the best craftsmen, designers, and furniture makers in the United States and the U.K. Over the course of the last 10 years, Luke has also apprenticed with Donegal Millworks, Cabinet Makeovers, and with a furniture maker and restorer. His training includes a vast array of joinery techniques, case piece construction, veneering, curvature, and CNC router technology. We design and build high-end: -home libraries -home offices -entertainment centers -fireplace mantels -mudrooms -walk-in closets -built-in dining room hutches -laundry rooms -kids’ room built-ins -window seating -wainscoting and wall flourishes -ecclesiastical work -and other custom luxury built-ins. We live in a 2 bedroom condo that really lacked storage and have been going back and forth about building more cabinets/drawers instead of buying bulky furniture. We reached out to Luke about building a media center that incorporated closed storage options and he really blew our minds. After sending him a couple of inspiration photos, he came up with a rendering, talked us through the different wood options, and really listened to what we wanted. He was kind and responsive throughout the process, and communicated with us while we were out of the country. In the end, the media center came out EXACTLY like his rendering. We are beyond pleased and would recommend him to anyone that may have an idea brewing in their minds.

I cannot speak highly enough of Luke at ARTIS. He was responsive and punctual. I requested he build a custom Murphy bed with a provided hardware kit. He provided a mock up of the design, revised it at my request, and provided a final draft. I requested to leave the bed unpainted so I can paint it using a custom color at a later date. The turnaround time to complete the project was reasonable and he worked with my schedule. The day of the installation was great! The end product looked exactly like the final draft of the mock up, was beautifully done, and placed exactly where I wanted it. He even gave me tips on how to prepare the bed for painting once I was ready to do so. I highly recommend Luke to anybody that will listen.

Luke responded to my request for a quote for his services. He came to my house and took the measurements for custom shelves for my pantry. 2 weeks later I have a stunning pantry. The shelves are massive and sturdy. They are absolutely beautiful!!!
