FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For cabinet refinishing, my general pricing is $150-$175 per base cabinet. The size of the cabinet may make the cabinets count as more than 1 cabinet. (Ex. Islands, tall cabinets) Pricing depends on whether colors are remaining the same or going from light to dark or dark to light as this will determine the amount of paint coats needed. Customer is also responsible for cost of paint. I will be responsible for all other necessary supplies and equipment. I provide a 10% discount if client is willing to remove and reinstall hardware and hinges. For other furniture refinishing, prices will vary based on several factors including size and condition of piece, what type of paint, stain, finish is desired; whether it’s more than one color or whether there are any other special requests (glaze, stencils, transfers, etc).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For cabinet refinishing, I like to see pictures of the current kitchen and learn the desires of the client. I discuss my preferences for paints (fusion mineral paint or Sherwin Williams urethane) and discuss pricing options. I am able to work on site in a clients home for the full job or I can take the drawers and doors with me and finish those off site. For furniture, I have several finished pieces for sale regularly, but if a client has their own piece or a piece they are looking for, I work with them on finding what they need and exploring ideas with them until they are satisfied with the ideas.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taught through various methods of online tutorials, reading articles, and being able to access a variety of professional groups for advice or opinions if needed.
