FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing for tutoring is generally in the $41-100 range. The lower end of that range reflects multiple sessions. Our packages are available in 10, 15 and 20 hours blocks. This is for all subject tutoring, and for the ASVAB, ACT or SAT. College counseling fees differ. We offer by the hour and comprehensive packages. We need to know where the student plans to apply to college to create the pricing. Customers must call us for this information.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For testing, we like to review the students prior testing history or provide a baseline test to see what skills need development. For college counseling, we provide a complimentary phone call consultation to learn more about the goals and explain our services. For general subject tutoring in reading, math, history or science, we want to review the student's transcript and talk with the family about the issues the child is facing to devise a tutoring plan. We also try to coordinate closely with the teachers, if the family is amenable.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I am the Regional Coordinator for my professional association and I attend conferences in my field. I generally visit 10-20 colleges a year. I have visited over 100 American colleges, including those most popular along the East Coast in the New England, Mid-Atlantic, west and southeast coastal areas. I also am called on to train other teachers and guidance counselors.
