Learn through practical experience and play along to your favorite songs right from the start.🥁 I'm a Berklee and NEC graduate, i love music and i do my best to pass this gift my students. I have lots of experience both in playing and in teaching different styles, and I look forward to sharing my passion with you. Gauaranteed progress from lesson to lesson. i aim to offer an open and honest environment. we will find what you need most to help you enjoy playing the drums - technique, concentration and focus, physical and mental habits. We will work on all these through exercises and playing with music. I teach student of levels, ages 8 and above. I look forward to hear from you!

Dor is an exceptional teacher and musician. He fosters a comfortable learning environment where you can really let loose on the drums! Every lesson yields noticeable improvements. I've never played the drums before, and I would 100% recommend Dor to anyone who's trying to learn!

I am a new student of Dor Herskovits. My experience so far has been excellent. He has gone out of his way to try to accommodate my schedule, and meet me after work. He is very knowledgable and eager to share his knowledge. His lessons consist of theory, technique, rudiments and also getting down and playing the drums! The lesson is very well balanced. I am a Music teacher myself in the NYC public school system, so I am pretty good at recognizing someone will talent, who knows his stuff, and is a good teacher. Dor has it all and really seems to care! I highly recommend Dor Herskovits.

Dor is an excellent drum teacher with knowledge in a many genres and styles. He's extremely patient and will recommend a variety of different exercises for areas in need of improvement. Would recommend to any level, beginner or advanced.

I have been a student of Dor's for over four months now and the experience has been fantastic. In lessons, Dor has sought to both challenge and encourage me so that I am continuously learning new things but not overwhelmed with information. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
bachelor's from Berklew College of music, masters from New England Conservatory
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been playing since I was 14, always loved it. I only started playing professionally in my 20's but teaching has always been something I really loved doing and I take as seriously as I do performing. I love going through the process of discovering what makes you tick and how to help you discover the wonderful things I've been taught or discovered on my own.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with kids and adults ranging all ages, but I primarily focus on ages 9-80. I find that younger kids are just not big enough physically for the instrument, but there are always exceptions. I take complete beginners, intermediate students. advanced and professionals. we all have something we want to work on and improve, including me.
