- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe in fair pricing for a job. If it takes longer than it should, I don't charge the extra time. I would rather work off the clock to finish a job than hastily do it and not be proud of my work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My interest in this work stems from my youth. My grandmothers house flooded from the top down while she was traveling. I helped my brother doing projects to repair the damage and found that I not only was skilled, but genuinely enjoyed the work.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I stripped and painted a 13 x 20 deck, stairs and railings last fall in a 2-tone gray. It was my first time doing a project that big. Between my work schedule and the weather, the project took 2 months. It was exhausting finishing the last couple days leading up to the due date, but when it was done it was amazing to see how it had transformed from what it was before to what I had made of it.
