Justin was my first drum teacher, and I can confidently say I am a much better player after having his lessons. He provided me with great advice and some outside resources to help facilitate my learning experiences. Would recommend him to anyone.

I'm a 56 yr old woman and decided to learn an instrument. I chose drums due to how it helps with memory, moods and so many health benefits. Justin made it easy for me to learn but also challenged me to learn the songs I thought were to hard. He instilled a sense of confidence in me to continue and I looked forward to my lesson each week. I didn't have a boring workbook, I just picked my favorite songs and he taught me how to play through them in no time. Justin is an excellent teacher and drummer, and makes you feel comfortable as soon as you meet him. I had to stop drumming due to shoulder complications but will definitely call Justin when I can return.

I recently picked up a drum kit at a garage sale hoping the kids would take an interest. No such luck! I decided not to let it go to waste and started lessons with Justin Oliver. I could not be happier. My goal is to have fun learning something new and challenging...so far so good. Justin keeps things engaging and interesting and has an easy going positive nature. His love for the drums is infectious and he encourages you to expand your musical knowledge as well. He is a fantastic teacher!

We are new to Zoom instrument lessons, and it has been awesome! It's actually perfect for my busy schedule to be able to do lessons at home from a screen for my two boys. They just have their lessons one after the next and Justin is so patient with them. They are always clear on what their homework is for the week- Justin has been a WIN for instrument lessons in our family.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
1/2 hour lesson: $30 45min lesson: $45 1-hour lesson: $60
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In terms of teaching, I like to first get a sense of the student’s and parent’s (where applicable) goals for the lessons. In addition, I like to know what type of music the student likes and what previous musical background he/she has. I then work on building/refining the foundation of technique as well as playing musical examples to keep things fun and moving in a positive direction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a BA degree from Berklee College of Music in percussion performance.
