Hey everyone! I'm Jonathan Ceasar, the founder of Guitar Player Academy! My musical journey started fifteen years ago with a strong passion for music and an even deeper love for the guitar. With years of professional experience performing with Boston's most prestigious bands around New England and graduating as the Valedictorian of the University of Rhode Island's Music Department as a Jazz Performance Major, I've dedicated my life to helping aspiring musicians achieve their goals and become the guitarists they've always wanted to be. What began as a small guitar studio with only a handful of students has transformed into a thriving online academy designed by guitar players, for guitar players! While at Guitar Player Academy, my goal isn't just to make you into another proficient guitarist but to inspire and guide you in making your own music in your own way. I've always believed that everyone should have access to high-quality and professional lessons. That is why I’d like to bring my years of professional and collegiate experience to the computer screens of any students willing to take the next (or first!) step in their musical journey. I provide in-depth practice tools, materials, techniques, and of course interactive practicing between myself and my students, all from the comfort of your living room anytime you choose! I’ll be utilizing the best of the best equipment and software to ensure that any skills learned throughout our lessons can be seamlessly translated from your screen to your fretboard. I hadn't even tried playing guitar since middle school and I thought that would mean I was too far behind but Jon did a great job of making me feel like I could quickly catch up! Lessons were easy to coordinate and Jon was informative and professional yet easygoing and comfortable. I would highly recommend GPA to anyone looking to pick up guitar!

I’ve never been super musical but I picked it up pretty quickly with Jons lessons plus lessons fit right into my busy schedule because of how flexible his times are!! Highly recommend if looking for an easy and affordable way to learn how to play guitar!

Jon is an amazing guitar teacher! It took me a long time to get even the basics down, but he was very patient every step of the way! Jon is very easy to talk to and work with. It is very obvious through his work and session that guitar is his passion! Definitely take lessons with him if you want to learn guitar!

Jon was an excelled guitar teacher, who taught me tips and tricks to learn and understand chord progressions. He broke things down for me, while talking to me about music at a level I understood. He has a serious passion for what he does and has continued to check in with me periodically about my progression! If you are considering taking lessons and don’t know where to start, this will be the best musical decision you can make. No judgement, very open minded, and clearly knowledgeable in his craft. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For a single guitar lesson scheduling: 30 Minutes - $30 1 Hour - $60 For students who would like to book recurring lessons: 30 Minutes - $25 1 Hour - $50
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I love to do when sitting down with a new student is talk about what goals they have for our lessons. Some students may be starting from scratch and want to learn their fundamentals. Some students may be more advanced and want to take their abilities to the highest level. Some students just want to learn their favorite songs from the radio. All of these avenues of playing guitar are great! But it's important that we establish what you're looking for so I can make the perfect curriculum designed just for you! Music has never been about being "one size fits all", so neither should your lessons!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started paying with Boston Wedding/Corporate Bands in 2017 with The Boston Premier Band. Boston Premier has been responsible for playing some of New England's most extravagant and high-profile events throughout the years. We've done everything from playing the highest-tier weddings on Nantucket to playing million-dollar corporate events! Because of this notoriety, I began freelancing and receiving calls to perform and record all around New England! Because of this professional experience, I have hundreds of songs in every genre imaginable under my belt that we can pull from to make your lesson as impactful as possible. While gigging professionally, I spent my collegiate years at The University of Rhode Island. While at URI, I attained my degree in Jazz Performance and graduated with Summa Cum Laude and within the top 10% of the entire University. I also received the prestigious honor of graduating with the highest GPA and Performance Scores within the entire music department. Between my professional and collegiate experience, I'm confident we can conquer any problems or challenges we face during our lessons!
