FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat rate of $75/hour with a 1-hour minimum, which covers most basic handyman work, smart home setups, or tech troubleshooting. For larger or more complex projects, I’m happy to provide a custom quote up front so there are no surprises. All pricing includes travel, tools, and cleanup—I keep it simple, transparent, and fair. I also offer discounts for veterans, repeat customers, and referrals, because I appreciate your trust and support. If you’ve got a few small tasks to knock out in one visit, I’ll always do my best to make it efficient and cost-effective.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to keep things simple and stress-free. When a new customer reaches out, I start by asking a few quick questions to understand the project and make sure I’m the right fit. If it’s a straightforward job, I can often give a quote right away. For more involved work, I’ll schedule a quick call or on-site visit to go over the details. Once we agree on the scope, pricing, and schedule, I’ll confirm everything in writing and show up on time, ready to get it done right. I bring my own tools, clean up after the job, and make sure you’re completely happy before I leave. Clear communication, fair pricing, and friendly service—that’s what you can expect when you work with South Shore Phil.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years of experience working in the consumer electronics and home technology space, including more than a decade focused on high-end audio, smart home systems, and connected devices. I’ve worked hands-on with everything from home theater systems and smart speakers to video doorbells, thermostats, and full-home Wi-Fi networks. In addition to my tech background, I’ve gained years of hands-on experience with home installations, troubleshooting, and customer-focused service. I’m comfortable with the tools, the tech, and the problem-solving that comes with making sure everything works just the way it should.
