The 2-man crew began the work in mid-January when the temperature was below freezing and often single digits. Friends and neighbors began asking us, “Who are these guys? They show up for work every day in this freezing cold!” Their progress was steady over the entire project. The on-site foreman, Kevin, answered my daily questions about their progress and whether they were finding any surprises up there (e.g., more rotted wood, carpenter ants, bird nests, squirrel nests, bat droppings, etc.) The owner, Brian, also kept me up to date with overall progress and next steps via e-mail as needed. The job took longer than either of us hoped ONLY BECAUSE it was winter in New England. During one particular stretch, we had 9 measureable snowfalls in 18 days! My wife and I are extremely pleased with the work that was done. We are planning to call Thistle Construction next January when we get bids for remodeling a master bathroom and 2nd floor bathroom - interior work in January which I think they will appreciate!
