Jeff came to tune our piano as it had been several years since the last tuning. He assessed the needs and said it was in good condition and suggested that, since we were moving the piano to a relative, we move the piano and tune it in ~ 5 months afterwards. He then lowered the agreed price since he did not tune. I truly appreciate his honesty. He’s one of the good guys!

Jeff was a wonderful tuner who did a fabulous job for a very good price. He was punctual, patient and responsive. I stayed upstairs because I was sick but I listened carefully as he tuned my piano. The notes are all crisp now and it sounds great. Jeff explained several important points about how tuning worked to my husband. Listening to him tune was a most relaxing experience. He never pounded on the keys. He just played them. I could hear it when he got the key tuned. I will use Jeff again and highly recommend. Thank you Jeff.

My experience with Dr Keys Piano Tuning was great. Communication from the time I booked the appointment until the day of the appointment was great. Very polite and professional. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As you may know, there are 208 to 215 strings to tune in any piano. I charge a fair flat-rate fee of 150.00. To be competitive, will match any price out there. This includes, if applicable, pitch raises within 20 cents +- A440. Travel allowance to be applied if further than 15 miles.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Need 1 to 3 hrs blocked time for tuning to cover for pitch raise. Most tunings are done in an hour and a half to two hours. A quiet environment will be needed as all testing is done by ear.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Member of Master Piano Technicians of America American School of Piano Tuning, Morgan Hill California Piano Technician June 12, 1981 RP School of Piano Technology, Bend Oregan Apprenticeship with Walter Woitasek, RPT, Brockton Ma.
