FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are required to attend continuing education classes every year for licencing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I studied psychology at Clark University and was planning to become a physicians assistant. While I was going to school I was also working for a pest control company. Once I finished school I left the pest control company and started working as an EMT in Boston, MA. Although I still wasn't satisfied with where I was going. I really didn't want to go to school for a few more years to become a PA and I didn't like the idea of working a 9-5 job for someone else. So I started reading about business and thought that maybe I could start my own business. This was eventually what I did. I stopped perusing a career in the medical field and decided to open a pest control company. I already had a pest control license and I loved pest control so this seemed like a logical step. It has been one of the best decisions that I've made.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I treat a lot of residential homes for Mice and Carpenter ants (this year was really bad for wasps too). I also treat a lot of commercial accounts for Bed Bugs.
